Yeah, thats us. Lots of pride, the odd bit of passion - but not much in the way of success, to be honest.
THE CHARLTON ATHLETIC ROLL OF HONOUR
1947: We won the FA Cup. UP THE ADDICKS!
1990: We nearly won a seat on the local council. YAY!
One trophy, and nearly one seat on the chuffing council - in more than a hundred years. Is it any wonder that we are all constantly in and out of therapy?
Our resident Mr Angry, in pensive mood today, is fully behind Parky's decision to play Carl Ikeme at Carlisle.
As we all now know Rob Elliot is out with injury, allegedly for up to six weeks. This has resulted in Parky drafting in a loan keeper in the shape of Carl Ikeme. A wise move it must be said.
However, was it wise to start Ikeme at Carlisle in front of our regular back-up keeper Darren Randolph? I have to say, initially I thought not. It seemed to be a snub to Randolph and perhaps an indication Parky doesn't rate him.
When I thought longer about the situation I came to the conclusion Parky had called it right. Think about this; if Randolph had started at Carlisle and got injured, we would have had no senior keeper to take his place against Northwich Victoria as Ikeme is not allowed, by the terms of his loan, to become cup-tied. That throws a different light on it, doesn't it?
So, Randolph will get the nod for the FA cup game and possibly the Paint-pot Trophy game at Southampton.
What happens for the visit of MK Dons? Well I'm not yet sure!
